The Moorside Grange Hotel is a new venue for Country Guide Holidays:

The hotel is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with panoramic views and some great walks right on our doorstep.

We enjoyed walks to Whaley Bridge, Lyme Park and Wood Lanes,

Lyme Park, Higher Poynton and The Cage and we also visited Buxton and climbed up to King Solomon’s Temple:

West Witton 2011

This is a great place for people who like waterfalls, wild flowers

and walking in the dales.

We stay at West Witton, a small dales village 3 miles from Leyburn in Wensleydale.

We walked from West Witton to Wensley, visited West Burton and Aysgarth Falls, and Middleham Castle.

Kilburn 2011

On this holiday we visited two abbeys, saw the Kilburn White Horse and enjoyed spectacular views from Sutton Bank. We stay at the Forresters Arms, in the beautiful village of Kilburn: next to the village church and opposite the “Mouseman” workshop. Our walks included around Rievaulx Abbey, Byland Abbey and the Kilburn White Horse.

Conwy 2010

The Caerlyr Hall Hotel is one of our finest hotels for character and location. The above photo shows the view from the hotel.

Our walk up Conwy Mountain gives spectacular views of Llandudno and the Great Orme:

Hayfield 2010

Hayfield sits at the foot of Kinder Scout, and is a more strenuous area than some of our other venues as most walks involve getting to the hilltops.

We stay at the Royal Hotel:

in the heart of Hayfield, a lovely village for walkers with several old Inns of character.

Walks included a circular walk towards Chinley, Kinder Scout: and Lantern Pike.

It was a bit rainy when we went up Kinder Scout, hopefully we’ll have better weather on future walks! We’ll be back in 2012, see here for dates.

Farndale – March 2010

This is always a popular holiday to see the spectacular daffodils which grow in the area.

We stayed at the George and Dragon:

and enjoyed walks around Kirkbymoorside, Lastingham, Hutton-le-Hole and Gillamoor and Farndale

This holiday was to look at the Autumn colours in the Lakes.

Our walks included Wray Castle and a trip on the ferry for a walk around Bowness.
