A new venue for us, we stayed in Symonds Yat. On the first day we explored around our hotel, walking around Great Doward and Leeping Stocks Nature Reserve before visiting Ye Old Ferrie Inn (see here for walk).
The next day we walked along the River Wye, before crossing over the river:
to Symonds Yat East. After lunch by the ferry:
we climbed Symonds Yat Rock, for spectacular views of the River Wye:
and to observe peregrine falcons (see here for walk).
The next day we visited Tintern Abbey:
and climbed up to the Devil’s Pulpit:
before stopping for a delicious pub lunch in Brockweir before walking back via the Old Station and the River Wye (see here for walk).
On our final day we visited Ross-on-Wye.
We walked along the river to Brampton Abbotts and had another great pub lunch in Wilton. We finished with a walk around Wilton Castle
(see here for walk) and had another chance to explore this lovely town.
