Ambleside – 1st to 3rd February 2013
We stayed at the Water Edge Inn, which is by the lake where you catch the boats.
Kilnsey/Grassington – 8th to 10th March 2013
Our accommodation is at the Tennants Arms at Kilnsey , a superb hotel set under Kilnsey Crag. Walks included Kilnsey Crag, Burnsal and Hebden Gill, Linton Falls and church.
Settle – 24th to 26th March 2013
Attermire Scar and Pen y Ghent and other great walks in Ribblesdale.
Walworth Castle – 10th to 12th April 2013
Great walks and a Tudor castle in County Durham.
West Witton – 28th to 30th April 2013
Accommodation is at the Old Star guest house. A beautiful area with walks to Aysgarth, West Burton, Leyburn Middleham castle. See here for previous walks.
Kilburn – 2nd to 4th June 2013
Accommodation is at the Foresters Inn and walk included the “White Horse” of Kilburn, Sutton Bank, Helmsley and Rievaux Abbey. See here for previous walks.
Llangollen – 18th to 20th June 2013
We stayed at the Abbey Grange hotel, at the foot of the Horseshoe Pass. Only 400 metres from the hotel are the lovely ruins of Vale Crucis Abbey, nearby are the Horseshoe Falls, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and the magnificent Castell Dinas Bran.
York – 23rd to 25th July 2013
We explored the York walls, alleys and more besides in this historic city!
Studley Castle – 11th to 13th August 2013
Great walks in the heart of the Cotswolds.
Conwy – 27th to 29th August 2013
Same time as last years for the yellow and purple of the gorse and heather, fantastic!
Bamburgh – 20th to 22nd September 2013
We stay at The Sunningdale Hotel in this peaceful and historic area of Northumberland. We hope to walk across the causeway to Holy Island, visit Craster and walk near Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh castles.
Malham – 13th to 15th October 2013
We stay at Beck Hall, in the centre of this delightful Yorkshire village.
Goathland – 31st October to 3rd November 2013
A 3 night break staying at the excellent Malyan Spout hotel in Goathland. At this time of the year the Autumn colours are truly beautiful. We also visited the amazing Hole of Horcum.
Hayfield – 15th to 17th November 2013
We stay at the Royal Hotel in Hayfield (one of Mel’s favourite villages). This year we’ll be walking around (but not up) Kinder Scout and hopefully up Lantern Pike.
Our most popular break is at New Year (31st December 2013 to 2nd January 2014).
